Detroit Annual Conference Memorial Worship

Members of the Detroit Annual Conference will gather to kick-off the 2016 Annual Conference with a celebration of past, present and future. The Rev. Dr. Barbara Lewis-Lakin, retired, will lead this service which will pay tribute to the saints who were lost this year while honoring the foundation they built upon which the church will grow.
Attendees will share in the baptism of two members of the Detroit Conference.
Meet Barbara Lewis-Lakin
Rev. Dr. Barbara Lewis-Lakin is a pastoral psychotherapist and counselor with the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Michigan. Her works focuses on grief and loss, spiritually-integrated psychotherapy, women’s issues, clergy and clergy family issues, sexual/power abuse by clergy, stage of life transitions, anxiety, and depression.
Rev. Lewis-Lakin is a graduate of Albion College and Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. She is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, having served as pastor in several local churches and as Consultant to the United Methodist Bishop in Michigan on matters of clergy sexual misconduct.
